Meet Anthony, Head Sommelier.
A graduate of the renowned Lycée Hôtelier de Bernay in Normandy, Anthony enriched his career by working in prestigious establishments such as the Apicius in Paris, where he was captivated by an impressive 48,000-bottle cellar. After honing his skills in Australia and various French establishments, he joined Château de Maubreuil in February 2020, deftly fusing his talents as sommelier and maître d'hôtel.
At the heart of his role, Anthony excels in the meticulous management of the wine list, orchestrating orders and directing his team with surgical precision. His passion shines through in his direct interaction with the winemakers, visiting their estates to immerse himself in their methods and share these oenological treasures with customers. "Being able to visit them on their estates, understand their methods for creating fine cuvées and present them to our customers is a real passion for me," he confides enthusiastically. La Table du Marquis benefits greatly from his dynamism and in-depth knowledge of wines, transforming every meal into an unforgettable tasting experience.
A master sommelier, Anthony constantly enriches the Château's cellar with meticulous selections of rare wines from all over the world. He cherishes the freedom to select wines for the menu, a freedom that allows him to meet the demanding expectations of his customers while putting his own personal stamp on the Château's wine offering. He is proud to be able to offer "rare bottles from all over the world" in his cellar, and particularly appreciates the total freedom he has to choose new entries.
His infectious sense of humour and commitment to his family values create a working atmosphere where mutual support is palpable. This atmosphere, combining professionalism and friendliness, is the key to his success and his well-being within the team.
