Inspiring career paths : The blossoming of talent at Château de Maubreuil
Clara, graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management: a passion for luxury and service
After taking a baccalauréat in economics and social sciences, upgrading her studies and gaining a BTS in hotel and restaurant management, Clara completed her studies with a Bachelor's degree at the Tunon International School in Nantes. Her interest in the luxury hotel industry began after watching a documentary that awakened her passion for the sector. After several years of training, she chose the Château de Maubreuil to complete her apprenticeship. ‘Maubreuil fitted in perfectly with my plans for the future, and thanks to the recommendations of my educational advisers, I knew that this was where I had to be’, she confides. Clara, helped by her supervisor Mélissande Marchal, aspires to become a receptionist, or even a concierge, and hopes to continue her career at the Château.
Basile, a graduate of a BTS (HND) in Landscaping: awakening to nature and landscaping
Basile, who joined us in October 2022, followed an atypical career path, starting out as a landscaping worker before specialising in landscaping. After taking an STI2D baccalauréat, a BTS in technical sales and a CAP in landscape gardening, he found his niche in the beautification of green spaces. His greatest source of pride is the creation of the permaculture area within the Château. ‘It's a prestigious establishment that respects the environment, and that's what drew me here,’ he explains. Under the tutelage of Clément Mercier, his apprentice master, Basile is continuing to hone his skills and is considering specialising in landscape construction.
Margot, Master's graduate in Communication and Media: creativity at the service of communication
Margot discovered her passion for communication after an academic career rich in experience. After an STMG bac and a first year in a DUT GEA, she joined ISEG Nantes, then Audencia SciencesCom, where she completed her studies in communication and media with a master's degree. ‘At college, I wasn't a very good student, but I persevered. It was a great source of pride for me to go from being a ‘dunce’ to top of the class at lycée’, she says. Margot chose Maubreuil to explore the luxury sector, attracted by the beauty of the surroundings and the versatility of the assignments. ‘Lucile Nicolas, my manager, was unfailingly supportive. She taught me a lot and prepared me for the post-study world of work’, explains Margot. She's now preparing to take a new step, with the desire to go into the events business, perhaps in Canada.
Océane, MBA Business Engineering graduate: Opening up to the world
Océane, attracted by the world and its cultures, followed a path in tourism that led her to an MBA in Business Engineering. After a BTS in Tourism and a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management, she is proud to have gone back to school twice and to see how this has enabled her to contribute to the development of some fine businesses. ‘What I'm most proud of is having gone back to school twice and seeing how it has enabled me to contribute to the development of some fine businesses,’ she confides. Attracted by the potential of Château de Maubreuil, she completed her studies there and now wishes to continue developing her skills, while considering joining a large group.
Naomie, with an additional qualification in Bar: a passion for service and mixology
Naomie followed a classic but intense path, going from 4th year vocational school to a CAP in room service, before completing her training with an additional qualification in bar service. ‘I really like waiting tables, but I thought that a bar qualification would be a real bonus, especially in an establishment like the Château with a great barman like Kleven’, she explains. Her greatest source of pride is having passed all her exams on the first try, never giving up despite moments of doubt. Naomie hopes to stay on at the Château, perhaps in the dining room, before realising that she's going to have to work in the restaurant.
Louise, BTS Tourism graduate: a passion for languages and event management
Louise began her career with a Baccalauréat L before switching to a BTS in Tourism, where she found her true passion. ‘I'm proud of my decision to change direction. It enabled me to find my path and to have experiences that helped me grow, like my work placement at Maubreuil’, she confides. Her work placement at the Château, although short, was a memorable experience. ‘Caroline, my manager, was incredible. In one month, I developed very quickly thanks to her’, explains Louise. She is now preparing to continue her studies for a Bachelor's degree in Event Project Management in Bordeaux, with the ambition of one day working in the sales department of a top-of-the-range hotel.
