This year, we are delighted to renew our commitment to Pink October by supporting the Ma Parenthèse association at our dinner and auction. This home for women with cancer offers personalised support. 

It's a place full of life, where you can almost forget about the disease.

A project born of many observations

Stéphanie Bernard and Solenn Leparoux, friends for over 10 years, are the founders of the Ma Parenthèse association, based in Basse-Goulaine. Coming from a medical background - Solenn from Nantes University Hospital and Stéphanie from the pharmaceutical industry - they have both been affected by the disease. Realising that the support available to women was not sufficiently tailored to their needs (too much non-personalised information, lack of advice on specialised lingerie, etc.), they set up Ma Parenthèse 4 years ago, a place where they can listen to each other in a spirit of kindness..

Ma Parenthèse offers a workshop area and a shop selling adapted products. By 2024, more than 210 women were benefiting from their support, and the association had already helped 700 women since its creation.

Activities and speakers to help you get to grips with this stage

With more than 25 workshops a week and 45 health and well-being professionals on hand, the association offers genuine physical and emotional support. Women, who are often initially attracted by activities such as pilates, cardio boxing or well-being workshops, then turn to more introspective workshops, such as learning how to deal with guilt, led by qualified professionals.

The association is also active in the workplace, offering prevention workshops on self-breast palpation and detecting the first signs of breast cancer.

For members: a necessary step on the road to recovery 

After their cookery workshop with a nutritionist, we spoke to the members, who told us how essential this space for living and expressing themselves has been to their reconstruction. Recommended by friends or discovered on the networks, and after daring to push open this door, which for some was quite intimidating, Ma Parenthèse enabled them to try out new sports, exchange advice and above all learn to cherish their self-esteem.

For them, it's a real bubble of joy, where the disease becomes a little easier to accept.
