Environmental initiatives
At Château de Maubreuil, we place great importance on sustainable development in the management of the hotel. This commitment is reflected in the implementation of positive measures aimed at minimising the impact of our activity on the environment.
Here are the initiatives we have put in place:
ENERGY MANAGEMENT
- We use geothermal energy to heat the hotel
- We read our water and electricity meters every month to better manage our consumption
- The home automation system installed in the establishment allows for better energy management
- Our swimming pools are covered when not in use to limit cooling and evaporation of the water
- Electric car charging stations are available in the car park
- We offer electric Fiat 500 cars for hire
- Exterior lights are automatically switched on and off at dusk or dawn
WATER MANAGEMENT
- We have equipped our bathrooms and toilets with timed taps with motion sensors
- Our sanitary facilities are equipped with Japanese toilets. These toilets are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that allows you to clean yourself with
- Water. More hygienic than paper, water cleans better and reduces the use of paper on a daily basis.
- We don't always have your towels. If you want your towels changed, please leave them on the floor.
- We collect rainwater for watering our green spaces
WASTE MANAGEMENT
- We filter the tap water directly in the establishment. We do not offer bottled water, which reduces our waste
- We sort our waste (cardboard, glass, food waste, etc.)
- Food waste is distributed in the compost
- We reuse used linen for other purposes (e.g. rags)
RESPONSIBLE PURCHASING
- The products used for the cleaning of the rooms are mostly eco-labelled, which offers better air quality and fewer health risks
- Step by step, we surround ourselves with producers who are respectful of our beautiful planet, with seasonal and local products
- We are developing a permaculture project in the park of the castle which, in the long term, will enable us to supply the restaurant's kitchens
