IN THE GARDEN
In Maubreuil, nature is slowly but surely blooming in July. As soon as one flower has bloomed, another one takes its place and each day that passes offers a new picture of a flamboyant nature. Below, at the very bottom of the estate, work will soon begin on a henhouse; a project imagined in the continuity of the permaculture approach desired for the Château.
Despite the capricious weather, nature is thriving in the heart of the Château de Maubreuil estate. The vegetable greenhouses are doing well, the first edible flowers that will soon adorn the dishes of our gourmet restaurant are beginning to bloom, and the raspberries are blushing in the heat. Nature is taking its time, but it is moving forward, tirelessly, before our admiring eyes.
In the meantime, our human hands are busy working on and soon building a monumental henhouse, which will be placed at the very back of the estate. With a surface area of about 1,000 m2, to allow our gallinaceous friends to roam at their leisure, it will house about fifty hens from here and elsewhere, species adapted to our climate. Green, blue, white or brown: the eggs thus harvested will supply our kitchens in a short circuit, to delight your taste buds, from the omelette at breakfast after a night in our 5-star hotel, to the elaborate recipes of our gastronomic restaurant.
In the continuity of our permaculture project, we also wanted this project to reduce our food waste and in particular our leftover bread and peelings. Finally, the compost thus generated will enrich and fertilize the soil of the garden and the vegetable garden, in short, improve our impact on the environment in more ways than one
